Q1 2010 Edition of v9 Roadmap is Out

January 2010

ULTRAMAIN has always resided at the top end of the functionality stack, but the newest version, v9, is not only the most functionally rich product of its kind ever, but also the most technically advanced MRO /M&E software ever devised. v9 is developed in Java EE technology with a Web 2.0 native Web-based Smart Client architecture. v9 represents more than a leap in technology; it includes entirely new products not found previously within the ULTRAMAIN product line. To keep users abreast of what’s being rolled out and when, we publish the v9 Roadmap.

Beginning this month, the v9 Roadmap is being published quarterly, and the Q1 2010 edition is out now. It contains more information than ever before on v9.  For starters, the latest edition contains details on two new products not previously listed, as well as details on an entirely new development phase.

As ULTRAMAIN users know, we’ve been incrementally enhancing ULTRAMAIN’s schema for some time to allow v8 users to immediately install v9 products so they can operate side-by-side with v8. To take advantage of new capabilities in v9 and interoperate with v8, an enhanced v8 schema was needed, which is already in use by users. To utilize v9, no v8 data migration is needed. Even though v8 and v9 are based in entirely different technologies, both can read and write records from/to users’ existing databases. As far back as February 2009, ULTRAMAIN users implemented v9, which interoperated with v8. The newest edition of the Roadmap includes more information on interoperability.

This month newly released v9 products are being installed at customer sites which, of course, are fully interoperable with v8.
